Video - Volunteers
Tuesday, December 04, 2007
I recently traveled to Nashville for the night to play a gig at the Bluebird Cafe with Lori McKenna. Famed producer Don Was (Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, etc.) was in the house, and invited both Lori and myself to come down to Ocean Way Studios the next day to record some tracks for his web broadcast on MyDamnChannel.com. It's a cool site featuring some of today's coolest songwriters cutting intimate, stripped-down versions of their songs live in the studio. In many cases, the songs are yet to be released, as was the case with the song I recorded with Lori "How Romantic Is That." I also had the chance to lay down a version of a new song I wrote with Pete Nelson called "Volunteers." You can check out the video of these performances below, and now the whole world knows that I record my songs with my eyes clamped shut!
